Established more than fifty years ago in one of Las Vegas’ most storied and historic neighborhoods, First Christian Church has benefitted from its proximity to The Strip and the rich musical legacy of our exciting and diverse city.  The extensive career of Music Director Timothy Cooper has enabled him to lead the Chancel Choir in embracing the newest technologies, including state of the art keyboards, surround sound, reverberation systems and the use of YouTube to increase our exposure and grow our audience.

 

The year culminates with our much anticipated and beloved Christmas concert, which has attracted SRO audiences for years.

The Chancel Choir continues to be exceptionally faithful as they present special music for all Sunday Services throughout the year. They continue to grow in membership and ability. They rehearse every Wednesday evening and additionally on Friday evenings before concerts, as requested by choir members.

 

The Chancel Choir also prepares special music for Sunday Services during the Easter season, Mother’s Day, Pentecost, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Earth Day in addition to their Annual Joy of Christmas Concert which is  presented the second Sunday of each December and a Spiritual Gospel Praise Concert in the Spring. These Concerts are exceptionally well-received by standing-room-only audiences. Choral Risers, purchased with gifts from choir members and the Disciples Men’s Fellowship, have added to the pleasure of these Concerts.
