The Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) of First Christian Church of Las Vegas, is part of the Women’s Ministries of the Disciples of Christ (all women are members). Our groups are service oriented. We help God’s Groceries by providing food as needed for the community. We help Babies Bounty and Angels in the Valley Foundation of Las Vegas. We send coupons to people serving in our military. We raise funds for various activities by sponsoring bake sales, craft fairs, and helping with the annual garage sale. At our meetings we lift up people who are having troubles, support each other, and have an interesting study. There is also a light refreshment served. It is an excellent way to get acquainted. We would like to get to know you better too. In the Fall we have an annual retreat.
Purpose
To provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, fellowship, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ.
Programs and Resources
To acknowledge women’s gifts, assist them in hearing the call from God on their lives and help them develop skills to live out that call; many types of leadership training opportunities are offered at local, regional, national and international levels, including retreats, workshops and conferences.
We encourage you to participate. We meet the first Thursday of each month in Room 7 at 6:30 pm
Disciples Men’s Fellowship
All Men of First Christian Church, including those visiting Men still looking for a Church:
The Disciples Men’s Fellowship (DMF) is a lay ministry, addressing and supporting the need of Christian men through fellowship, study and service. The DMF normally meets the second Saturday of every month at 8:00 a.m. and ends by 9:15 a.m. except during Miracle League season (see notice above). All men of First Christian Church are invited to join with us.
The DMF supports the men of the First Christian Church through three avenues:
The first is fellowship over a breakfast provided by one of the members. This will be a time to informally meet and talk with fellow members.
The second is a study program focusing on issues/hurdles and helping men cope in their spiritual journey of faith. This is accomplished after the fellowship portion of the meeting with program led by a DMF member or guest speaker.
The third is service which benefits our church and its members or a worthy charity. This is accomplished by the participation of the members in various projects and fund raisers such as church-wide yard sale, spaghetti dinner, chicken barbeque and craft fair booth.
The Disciples Men serve our local congregation and beyond through the International Disciples. Our funds are used to support the Men’s Pancake Breakfast, church camp scholarships, blankets for homeless teens, Habitat for Humanity, God's Groceries and many other worthy causes.
