Welcome,  There are not many places that truly welcome diversity but here, ALL, really does mean ALL. ALL are welcome, regardless of age, background or belief. All are welcome to worship. All are welcome to attend activities or events. All are welcome to join us in serving our community or on mission experiences. Through our honest welcome, we hope you experience compassionate care that will connect you to God’s love.

 

First Christian Church(Disciples of Christ) was founded in 1941. Members first met in their own homes until a small church building was built. The current land near downtown Las Vegas was purchased in 1957. The first building (the Hope Building) was built in 1958. First services were held in this small building, which is now 12 separate rooms. A “new” sanctuary, Fellowship Hall was built in 1964. Another expansion occurred in 1980 when a classroom and office building(Love Building) was built. The present sanctuary was constructed in 1991. Thirteen Pastors have served this congregation. Our 80th anniversary occurred in 2021. In the last 30 years there were two long-serving pastors, one of which was a clergy couple. This congregation excels in providing for many social needs and demonstrates its strong desire to support the disadvantaged through offering space and assistance to various support groups, including Miracle League Las Vegas.
